Today’s a letter to you. Yes, you. It’s special like you, so take a few minutes to read it 🙂 It’s about your hopes and dreams. Your happiness and fulfillment. Your life.
Dear wonderful lady reading this
Today you need to get thinking. Thinking first, then taking action. There’s a BIG difference between the two.
Thinking about your dreams
This letter is the sign you’ve been waiting for to pursue a dream you have. Let’s start with one dream.
It’s your sign to move on to bigger adventures in your life. A sign that now’s the time to stop dreaming about it and to make a move in the right direction. Just the first step, which is sometimes all you need to get momentum.
So, which idea comes to mind first? That’s the one you’re starting with…
There’s something that you want to do in life. It’s the thing that makes your eyes sparkle when you talk about it. It’s the thing that makes your soul feel alive again. It’s what you spend hours on the internet reading about or dreaming about at work.
This letter gives you full permission to pursue it, wholeheartedly and unashamedly. There is only one clause – you need to start today.
Taking action on your dreams
You are wondering how. You are tired and overwhelmed. You don’t have enough hours in the day. There’s laundry to do and dirty dishes in the sink. It’s okay. They will be there later or tomorrow, but they aren’t what’s important right now.
Now that you know what you want to work on, you need to make a plan on how to get there. And you need to do it today.
It doesn’t have to be the perfect plan. There is no such thing. Life never goes to plan – it has it’s own flow. But you can create a guide and decide where to start. Luckily, there’s help on how to achieve your goals. This is a process.
So, what’s your plan to make your dream come true?
If you can’t tell me step by step then you need a clearer plan.
What steps will you take every single day to get there?
You will no longer wait. Wait for someone to come knocking at your front door to hand it to you. Wait for Mr Right to ride up on a white horse and rescue you. Wait for your boss to decide to give you 6 months’ paid leave to tour islands on a yacht. Wait for the right time or more time.
Nope, no more waiting.
When you see others who have what they want, they worked for it. They did what needed to be done to get there. To make it happen. And they never gave up. Cheer for them. Learn from them. Write your own story.
Need some motivation?
Go and read some of the stories of the women on this blog who have done this. Ordinary women who are just like you. They made things happen. None of them say, ‘Oh, I woke up one day and my stories were published’, or ‘Someone took pity on me and got my charity up and running’.
Where to start if you don’t know where to start
On my desktop background I have two very simple words: Today Matters. They come from the title of a brilliant book by John C Maxwell on how what you do today determines your tomorrow.
My desktop is a reminder to me when I switch on my computer that what I do today will have an impact on what I have tomorrow. It keeps me going.
If you don’t know where to start, then this book is a great place. It takes you through twelve important areas in your life, and helps you set up each one for success. If you read nothing else this year, this is the one to read:
The book by John C Maxwell that got me kick-started and realize that what I do today has an effect on my tomorrows and where I will go in life.

That’s it for now
Let this be the sign you’ve been waiting for. Or the sign to remind you to get back into gear. The sign telling you what’s really important in your life – you!
Do something every day to get yourself closer to your dream. Don’t let this day slip away. Today matters.
Make a decision and your plan, then implement and automate the steps as much as possible. Keep things simple and easy.
There’s a great saying about how if you don’t pursue your dreams someone else will pay you to make theirs come true. You are here to live your life and contribute to the world. You are unique. Honor that uniqueness. Honor what you were made to do.
Today I’m committing to my plan right here, in black and white:
My dream is to have a blog that inspires women to shine and gives them the tools and motivation to make their dreams a success. A blog that supports them on this, and encourages them to help other women do the same.
I commit to working on my blog for one hour every single day. I will do this no matter how I feel, what went wrong that day, or what went right.
I’ve written down the steps I need to take based on my blogging course, and I will action them one by one until each is done.
And I hope you see this journey unfold before your very eyes.
Why don’t you commit to a plan in the comments below?
